As in all our Lightning games, you pay a Lightning fee for the chance of bigger wins. In fact, in Lightning Blackjack you are always guaranteed a multiplier (2x–25x) on a winning score! The multiplier is saved for the next game round, and your payout will be multiplied by this multiplier if you win. (The multiplier won covers your bet only in the amount of the Lightning fee that was paid in the round in which the multiplier was acquired. If you place a larger bet,a regular Blackjack payout is applied to the excess amount.)
The multiplier is available for use for up to 180 days. Lightning Blackjack is a true Blackjack game in a uniquely different setting. Players take their virtual seat and try to achieve a hand that’s closer to 21 than the dealer’s hand. The game is played with eight standard 52-card decks. Cards are shuffled after four decks of cards have been dealt.
Cards from 2 to 10 are worth their face value. Face cards (Jacks, Queens and Kings) are each worth 10, Aces are worth 1 or 11, whichever is more favourable to the hand. Note that a soft hand includes an Ace worth 11.
BLACKJACK - If the value of your initial two-card hand is exactly 21, you have Blackjack!
LIGHTNING RULES
You place an additional mandatory 100% Lightning fee off every initial bet. This allows the chance to win a multiplier for your next hand. The Lightning fee is not applicable to Double Down and Split.
INSURANCE
If the dealer’s up card is an Ace, you can choose to place an additional Insurance bet that pays out if the dealer goes on to win with a Blackjack. The player clicks ‘Yes’ to purchase this ‘Insurance’ then places an additional bet equal to half the initial Blackjack bet. The dealer then takes a peek at his/her face-down card to check for Blackjack. Should the dealer have Blackjack (i.e. an Ace + 10, Jack, Queen or King), you win twice the Insurance bet.
If you and the dealer both have Blackjack, the game ends in a push and your bet is returned. If the dealer does not have Blackjack, you lose your Insurance bet and the game continues.
MAKING A DECISION
As soon as you receive your first two cards you can make an initial decision regarding your hand: you can Hit, Stand, Double Down or Split. If no decision is made before the betting time expires, a player’s lack of response is interpreted as Hit, if the player’s score is 11 or less, or Stand, if the player’s score is 12 or more. You will not be offered a decision option when your hand score equals 21.
DOUBLE DOWN
If the value of the player’s initial hand is not 21, you can decide to Double Down. In this case, your bet is doubled, and you are dealt only one additional card to add to your hand.
HIT OR STAND
Alternatively, you can decide to Hit and be dealt an additional card to add to the value of your hand. You can Hit more than once to receive additional cards before you decide to Stand once you are satisfied with the value of your hand.
SPLIT
When your first two cards are of equal value, you can choose to ‘Split’ them into two separate hands. If you split two Aces, you will receive just one additional card on each hand. No doubling is allowed and you can only Split once per hand.
DEALER’S HAND
When all players have made their decisions on their hand, the live dealer reveals the value of the down card. The dealer must Hit on a hand of 16 or less and must Stand on a hand of soft 17 or more.
THE GAME OUTPUT
If the player’s hand value is the same as the dealer’s hand, the game round ends in a push and the player’s bet is returned.
Blackjack is only possible using the two cards in the initial two-card deal. A hand of 21 resulting from a Split pair is not considered a Blackjack. Therefore, Blackjack beats any hand of 21 resulting from a Split pair. If the sum of the player’s hand exceeds 21, the player busts and loses his/her bet on that hand.
